A LOBED BLUE AND WHITE ARITA PORCELAIN DISH Japan, 19^th century

The octagonal lobed dish painted in underglaze blue on the show side with a central floral composition and a phoenix in flight, surrounded by a border of panels enclosing alternating floral and geometric designs. The backside with stylized scrolling foliage and a mark.

Condition: With three small chips to mouth rim, two of them filled, otherwise good condition.
