Japan, 19th century
Painted in ink and color on silk, with a silk brocade frame, and mounted as a hanging scroll, the jiku (roller ends) carved from bone. Depicted are two red-crowned cranes standing beneath a bamboo tree. Signature/inscription and seal in the lower-left corner.
SIZE 109 x 40.5 cm (image), 179 x 52 cm (incl. mounting)
Condition: The painting presents well with wear, losses, staining, and creasing to the painting. The mounting with wear, soiling, and tears, especially in the upper right corner.
