HOKUSAI: A WOODBLOCK REPRINT OF SUNSHŪ ŌNO SHINDEN

The multi-colored woodblock reprint (nishiki-e), depicting the new fields at at Ōno in Suruga Province (Sunshū Ōno shinden) which is from the series “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji” (Fugaku sanjūrokkei), showing several farmers with oxen, carrying bundles of hay on their backs, with Mount Fuji in the background. Signature/inscription on the right corner of the painting and the seals on the bottom left.
