A LARGE CHAM SILVER REPOUSSÉ PLAQUE DEPICTING VISHNU AND CHILD Champa, 15th-16th century. The plaque finely executed in repoussé depicting Vishnu, one of the principle deities of Hinduism, four-armed and holding the Sudarshana Chakra (war disk), a conch, a mace, and a divine jewel in his hands, wearing a high crown, richly adorned in jewelry, the face with a fine expression with arched brows, almond-shaped eyes, a broad nose, and slender lips, a halo behind his head, the attendant child to Vishnu’s side holding a lotus flower high above his head.

Condition: Good condition with some minor bending and tears, some small losses, and minor traces of age and wear.
