A FINE INDONESIAN KRIS WITH SILVER SHEATH
Indonesia, Sumbawa, late 19th century to early 20th century. The narrow, wavy iron gandar (blade) with its protruding thorn-shaped ganja. Set with an incised silver Mendak and a fine-polished wood Patra (handle), depicting a zoomorphic figure. The tropical wood warangka and the nicely crafted (massive) silver pendok (sheath) with a silver chain studded with marcasites to the top.
Condition: Overall good condition with usual wear, minor nicks, and dents to the sheath.
