Description

提要：头品顶戴广西巡抚臣马丕瑶跪请皇上圣躬万安 可见朱批“朕安” 马丕瑶（1831～1895) ，字玉山，清代广东巡抚。清同治元年进士。历任太原府知府，署理山西按察使和山西布政使。光绪十三年任贵州按察使，接着又任河南省布政使。十五年秋，任河南省巡抚。创建官书局，惠及读书人而广施教化。倡办蚕桑，开设机坊。二十年十月授广东巡抚。时值中日甲午战争之际，积极修复海防设施，选拔任用有才能的得力将领，兴办团练，加强武器装备。后因忧愤国事卒于任上，终年65岁，两广总督谭钟麟奏报朝廷，诰授“光禄大夫”、“威武将军”。
