民国手写本 端方（1861-1911），字午桥，号陶斋。满洲正白旗人，历任工部主事、陆军部尚书、湖广总督、两江总督等职。曾赴欧美考察政治，兴办新政，宣统三年（1911）为镇压四川保路运动入川，在资州因兵变被杀，清室追赠太子太保，谥忠敏。一生嗜好金石书画，大力搜集收藏青铜器、石刻、玺印等文物。著名青铜重器毛公鼎，原由著名文物收藏家陈介祺收藏，后也归端方所有。
