A MARINE IVORY NETSUKE OF TWO DUCKS ON A ROCKY PLINTH
Japan, 19th century
A marine ivory netsuke, depicting two ducks sitting on a rocky plinth, surrounded by finely carved crashing waves and barnacles. Two asymmetrical himotoshi through the underside with the larger himotoshi generously excavated to accommodate the knot.
LENGTH 4.2 cm
Condition: Good condition with minor wear and one tiny chip to the bottom.
Provenance: German private collection.
