宫廷铜鎏金金刚橛，原为古印度时期的兵器，后为佛教吸收，用于密教修法时立于坛城四隅，以抵抗邪魔入侵。此金刚橛橛顶安置马头明王护法头像。本尊焰发竖立，发髻内置有马头，为此尊最为典型的标志，表意啃食所有世间障碍。具三忿怒面，皆戴五骷髅冠饰，浓眉紧蹙，龇牙卷舌，似要涤荡世间一切恶业邪障。其下为素洁握柄，最下部为摩羯口吐三棱橛刃，上盘长蛇，代表对三世和三界的控制以及对嗔毒的降伏。此金刚杵铜质细腻，包浆温润，做工精细，神灵面容及细节刻画带有典型的蒙古地区雕塑特征，其上斑驳的使用痕迹，告诉世人此橛为高僧常用之修法利器，所具加持力十分非凡。
