signed SHANSHEN, inscribed, and with one seal of the artist ink and colour on paper, hanging scroll Yang Shanshen was a Chinese artist known for his flower-and-bird paintings.His use of atmospheric blurs set off by graphic lines,are hallmark elements of his work.Born in 1913 in Chiqi,China,he was influenced by Gao Jianfu and Gao Qifeng as a youth.In 1970,he received an honorary degree from the Chinese Academic Research Institute in Taiwan.
