The Mark XI was issued from 1949 on, so this example is probably a pre-series. caseback stamped on the outside with broad arrow, 6B/346 (representing the new aviation standard for wrist watches by the MoD, which makes chronometer certified movements and magnetic field protection mandatory) as well as 710/48. Inside of caseback signed with IWC and Stainless Steel. Inner case made from soft iron for magnetic field protection. Tritium dial and lumino hands (lumino material on hands relumed, still after-glowing. Visible signs of e on case, crystal and strap. 36mm diameter without crown.
