"Paysage intime" in summary, partly impasto painting style with birch and oak trees in atmospheric backlight. In contrast to the traditional heroic or romantic landscapes, the realistic directly experienced reproduction of simple pieces of nature with often slightly melancholic mood is chracteristic: The origin of the "Paysage intime" goes back to the school of Barbizon around Rousseau, who was one of the first open-air painters and first painted in 1832 /1833 in the forest of Fontainebleau near the village of Barbizon, where he finally moved in 1847. The school of Barbizon was essential for the development of Impressionism. Im Gegensatz zu den tradierten heroischen oder romantischen Landschaften ist die realistische unmittelbar erlebte Wiedergabe einfacher Naturstücke mit oft leicht melancholischer Grundstimmung charakteristisch: Der Ursprung der "Paysage intime" geht auf die Schule von Barbizon um Rousseau zurück, der als einer der ersten Freilichtmaler erstmals 1832 /1833 im Wald von Fontainebleau nahe des Dorfes Barbizon malte, wohin er 1847 endgültig zog. Die Schule von Barbizon war wesentlich für die Entstehung des Impressionismus.
