提要：魏大中（1575-1625）字孔时，号廓园，浙江嘉兴府嘉善县（今浙江省嘉兴市嘉善县）人。明代官员。魏大中少时家酷贫，自学成为生员，后从师高攀龙。万历四十四年中进士，授官行人。明熹宗天启四年，杨涟疏劾魏忠贤，魏大中亦上《击逆珰疏》，率同僚弹劾魏忠贤。大学士魏广微与魏忠贤表里为奸，魏大中屡次参劾。持议峻切，邪党侧目，奸人谗嫉。遭劾被贬三级外放，旋归。未及半载，阉党又矫旨逮捕汪文言，刑逼汪文言诬陷魏大中受杨镐等人贿金。天启五年，与杨涟、左光斗等同被构陷，投入诏狱，折磨致死，享年五十一。
