Description

吴宏，一作弘，字远度，号竹史、西江外史。江西金溪人，移居江宁（今南京）。自幼好绘事，自辟蹊径。顺治十年（1653）曾渡黄河，游雪苑，归而笔墨一变，纵横放逸。画作大多取材于自然景物及仰慕的桃花源仙境，构图疏密相间，气势雄阔。与龚贤、高岑、樊圻、邹喆、叶欣、胡慥、谢荪合称为金陵八家，在八家中画风最为粗放，浑融无际，任凭想象，景色细致苍郁，充满了生活气息。偶作竹石，亦有水墨淋漓之致。
