A substantial cleaver with tapering rectangular blade with squared end, rivets exposed in the tang on one face and rivet heads visible above bone handle on the other, rounded butt and bifacial tear-shaped finger guard, decorated ovoid 'lug' to one face. 348 grams, 33cm (13"). Netherlands before 2000. Property of an English collector. Possibly of German origin; may once have beenbined with a wheellock pistol.
