A discoid mount with an openwork design of Saint Luke in the form of a winged and horned bull, standing left on a circular frame, intricate detailing to the feathers of the wings and to the animal's head, held slightly to one side; three circular piercings for attachment. Cf. The Portable Antiquities Scheme, record id. ESS-98FEE8, for a similar mount dated 13th-14th century AD. 10.2 grams, 33mm high (1 1/4"). Acquired on the UK antiques market between 1974-1985.
