A pewter vessica-shaped medal of bifacial type, the front with the figure of the armoured St Michael spearing a dragon, surrounded by the legend 'CHURCH OF ENGLAND TEMPERANCE SOCIETY'; the reverse flat and bearing a central expanding-arm cross with foliage between, surrounded by the legend 'WHETHER YE EAT OR DRINK DO ALL TO THE GLORY OF GOD'; a paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 10:31 'Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God'. 3.42 grams, 26mm (1").
