A fine unsigned portrait in oils, thinly painted on canvas with pine stretcher depicting a young lady wearing a dark dress, lace bodice and with a fine mantilla over the shoulders, a multi-strand coral and gold necklace and coral drop earrings, with a gold rope body chain looped over the shoulders; her hair in ringlets and bound with a ribbon which covers the forehead. 550 grams, 53.5x43 cm. (21 x 17 "). Ex Kent, UK collection; by inheritance. The subject seems likely to be a young Catholic lady of some wealth and stat, certainly West European, and possibly Spanish.
