Rev: short cross with P A X S in angles with P in second quarter and +EDPOLDONORÐPI legend for the moneyer Edwold at Norwich mint. S. 1257; N. 848; see BMC 829 (same reverse legend, same dies?) 1.41 grams. Acquired David Lay sale, lot 180 (part"). Property of a Kent collector. The reverse legend reads +EDPOLDONORÐPI which divides +EDPOLD O NORÐPI so lacking the 'N' from the ual connective 'ON' and giving the mint abbreviation reading of NORTHWI for Norwich; the reverse initial cross is also slightly offset to the right from the limb of the central cross.
