Sir Robert Peel - A Georgian mahogany drop front bureau circa 1750. The drop front bureau having four graduated drawers and a fitted interior, it was restored sympathetically three years ago, approx 108 cms h x 101 l x 57 d cms. According to a letter given to the vendor, this bureau was part of the furnishings of Drayton Manor, Litchfield, and was given as a token of friend and respect to a member of the original consigners family. The Eaton family were close friends of Sir Robert Peel.January Antique and Collectable Sale 27/01/2022Note: The back of the bureau is loose, one drawer does not open and most of the drop handles are a little loose in the brackets and need tightening.
