A French gilt brass mantel clock in Louis XV style, unsigned, Paris, late 19th century, the circular eight-day countwheel bell striking movement with anchor escapement incorporating Brocot type regulation to the spension and stamped with serial number 29314 to the upper left of the backplate over 8, 1 to lower margin, the circular silvered cast brass cartouche numeral dial with five-petal relief cast flowerhead to centre and Arabic five minutes within the outer minute track, with blued steel spade and moulded surround set behind hinged bead cast bevel-glazed bezel, the case with twin handled urn surmount over drum hoing the movement applied with a ribbon bow crest and supported on a fluted column pedestal flanked by genero openwork side scrolls joined by a hk swag, the base with two-tier laurel cast bands to the curved central section flanked by rectangular rosette decorated projections over toupe feet, 42cm high, 28cm wide, 14cm deep, together with a pair of small columns candlestick sidepieces, late 19th century, each 15cm high (3)
