A COLLARED GREEN JADE DISC, SHANG DYNASTY China, c. 1200-1050 BC. The disc is carved with a large collared aperture surrounded by a narrow ring rising above the encircling, flat disc. The opaque stone is of an even, dark green tone with scattered black and white veins and specks. Fine polish.

Provenance: New York trade, USA, by repute acquired from a private estate.
Condition: Overall good condition. The stone with some nicks, old wear and natural fissures, some of which may have developed into small hairline cracks over time. One larger loss to the raised ring has been reduced.
