AN ARCHAISTIC SERPENTINE BLADE, QING DYNASTY China, 1644-1912. The blade slightly flaring to a rounded edge, carved to either side with a central taotie mask against a diapered ground enclosed by a slightly raised border, below a sinuous chilong and above three pendent palm blades, the top with a circular aperture. The stone of a mottled green tone with russet veins and cloudy inclusions.

Provenance: Belgian trade.
Condition: Good condition with old wear, minor nicks, and light scratches. The stone with natural fissures, some of which may have developed into small hairline cracks over time.
