A BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN BOWL WITH FLOWERS AND BUTTERFLIES, QIANLONG PERIOD China, 18^th century. The deep sides molded with lappets, rising from a tall foot to a foliate café-au-lait glazed rim, painted to the interior in underglaze cobalt blue with a central peony below a floral diapered band, the exterior decorated with reserves in relief enclosing alternating leafy lotus and a scene with two figures, all amid scattered butterflies and floral sprays.

Provenance: From the Collection of James E. Breece III, New York, USA, and thence by descent. The base with an old paper label inscribed with ink: ‘This bowl held the water with which the children of M. (…) were Christened’.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and firing flaws such as minimal pitting, spotting, and a short firing crack to the foot. With two glaze flakes to the lip.

中國，十八世紀。碗口花口描金，深圓腹，圈足。外壁青花描繪花蝶紋，開光描繪梁山伯與祝英臺化蝶的故事。碗内一朵牡丹花。青花色澤淡雅，紋飾精美。

來源：美國紐約James E. Breece III收藏, 保存至今。底部有舊紙標籤，上書“This bowl held the water with which the children of M. (…) were Christened“。
品相：狀況極好，輕微磨損和燒製瑕疵，例如小點蝕、斑點和足部的小燒裂。唇沿上有兩處釉面開片。
