The spacecraft was equipped with life-support system, radio and television for monitoring the condition of the cosmonaut, tape recorder, telemetry system, biological experiments, and automatic and manual control equipment. Titov orbited Earth 17 times, th surpassing the length of time any human had spent in orbit so far. During the mission Titov took images of the planet with a professional Konvas motion picture camera with which he recorded ten minutes of film of the Earth through the porthole of his spacecraft
