设色水墨绢本。 文征明（1470---1559），初名壁，字征明，更字征仲，号衡山居士，江苏长洲（今苏州吴县）人。他出身仕宦之家，天资不算聪颖，直到54岁时受工部尚书李充嗣的推荐才得以直接入吏部参加考核，授翰林待诏一职。此时他的书画已负盛名，购求其书画的人很多，他本人却不免受到翰林院同僚的嫉妒和排挤。57岁辞归出京，放舟南下，回苏州定居，以翰墨自娱，无意仕进。文征明诗、文、书、画无一不精，是被人称为“四绝”的全才。他擅画山水、人物、花卉、兰竹，尤以山水著称。山水得沈周指导，学习宋元诸家，主要表现文人生活题材。他的山水画有“粗笔”“细笔”两种风貌，人称“粗文”和“细文”。但细笔是其主要风貌，最具特色。
