A Chinese Longquan style celadon vase dating from the 18th century. It comes with a wooden stand. The vase features multiple registers of taotie mask designs. Large beast-form handles flank the body along with small key-like protuberances. The bottom of the vase has a 6-character mark. Dimensions are: 13 1/2 inches tall X 12 inches long at the handles X 9 inches wide, 34.3 cm X 30.5 cm X 22.9 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The bottom of the vase has been drilled. There are extensive areas of significant, severe breakage, repair, and overpainting. The stand has some evidence of repair. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is. We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece after its initial manufacture as diligently as possible; however, as stated in our terms, condition reports are statements of opinion and not representations or warranties. Oakridge Auction Gallery bears no responsibility for any error or omission. Provenance: From Ms. Lynn in Northern California. The items were collected by her grandmother prior to the 1960s. Notes: High resolution photos can be found here.
