A Chinese famille rose porcelain garden stool dating from the 19th century. The side of the round, drum-shaped stool features three registers of decoration whose subjects include scholarly objects, birds with flowers and branches, and flowers. The top of the stool features a floral scene. Lucky coin cut-outs are present on the top and sides of the body. Dimensions are: 18 inches tall X 14 inches in diameter, 45.7 cm X 35.6 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: One of the studs is missing. There are chips throughout as well as wear and glaze loss, particularly to the top of the stool. The items in the collection were acquired in Beijing or Hong Kong from the 1980s to the early 1990s. Notes: High resolution photos can be found here.
