A pair of Chinese blue and white dragon vases dating from the Republic period. The vases have roughly cylindrical bodies with convex mouths and tapered feet. Each depicts two dragons chasing a flaming pearl among clouds. The rim has a ruyi band, the neck has a banana lead band, and the lower body has a wave band. A 6-character mark is on the bottom. Dimensions are: 9 3/4 inches tall X 3 3/4 inches in diameter, 24.8 cm X 9.5 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: One vase has a hairline to the body. The other is in good condition.
