A Chinese eight-panel wood screen with porcelain plaques dating from the 19th century. Each panel has two famille rose plaques of mythological figures including Hehe Erxian, the Sanxing, and others. Each panel also has blue and white plaques with lotus decoration. The end panels each feature an additional blue and white plaque with a 3-character inscription. Dimensions are: the largest plaque measures 10 inches tall X 5 inches wide, 25.4 cm X 12.7 cm, while the whole screen measures 32 inches tall X 53 inches wide, 81.3 cm X 134.6 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Two plaques have one crack each. There is glaze loss throughout as well as significant age wear and chipping to edges. Several plaques have significant iron pitting. Several blue and white plaques have been replaced. The wooden frame has separation at the seams and chipping. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is. We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece after its initial manufacture as diligently as possible; however, as stated in our terms, condition reports are statements of opinion and not representations or warranties.
