A Chinese carved stone Buddhist shrine dating from the Qing dynasty or earlier. It comes with a wooden stand with silver inlay. The volcanic stone features an area of relief carving on the front face with Avalokiteshvara, who is standing in their eleven head form with eight arms. Below is a 6-character inscription. Dimensions are: 4 1/4 inches tall X 3 inches wide X 1 1/2 inches deep, 10.8 cm X 7.6 cm X 3.8 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Cracking is present throughout.
