Circa 1800-1900 AD A very fine embroidered silk prayer mat with multi coloured boarders and central arch framing a delicate floral vase arrangement. Floral decorations and arches aremon themes for the adornment of prayer mats, reminding the worer of the gardens and palaces of paradise. Size: L:1695mm / W:1160mm; 1.4kg Provenance: From the collection of a London gentleman; formerly acquired in early 2000s in France; previously in 1970s European collection.
