A Chinese Blue and White Porcelain 'Monkey and Deer' BowlLate Ming DynastyThe exterior brightly painted with two swirls, one containing a deer and the other a monkey above florals, the swirls surrounded by deep blue florals, birds, insects and sea images, all between two blue bands around the mouth rim and a single blue band above the foot, a four-character mark in underglaze blue on the base reading fu gui jia qi, "beautiful vessel for the rich and honorable". Diameter 5 1/2 inches. Note:Late Ming blue and white bowls with a deer and monkey motif are rare.
