Ca. Ø58mm, ca. 150g, typical Arnold silver case, hinged on both sides, à-goutte, London Hallmarks 1818, case maker's punch TH (Thomas Hardy), No.3022, matching with the movement number on the plate, plate signed and numbered, Arnold detent chronometer with extremely rare regulation 'right-anglepensation', magnificently engraved cock, steel balance, signed and numbered original enamel dial (fine hairlines), gold hands, in working order. It is very difficult to find an unconverted Arnold Chronometer with this rare movement version. The chronometer was first auctioned in Geneva in 2001 andes from an important chronometer collection. It was sold for 13,800 Swiss Francs (pensation. In a regularpensation curb all parts are made fixed and are installed as such; they cannot be adjusted, and they either work correctly or do not. In this watch, thepensation can be adjusted by changing the point at which it acts on the regulator pin: the closer to the center, the greater thepensation, the farther away, the lesser thepensation. It seems that the presentpensation was Arnold's answer to Earnshaw's sugar- tongpensation'!
