Ca. Ø45mm, ca. 81g, fantastically beautiful rock crystal case, elaborately faceted and excellently preserved, signed early verge movement from around 1650, silver balance cock, iron balance, plate signed Duhumel (variant of Duhamel) a Paris, wonderfully preserved patinated dial, splendidly florally engraved, blued iron hand, intact, in museum condition. The important Duhamel family of watchmakers was active in Rouen, Blois, Paris and Geneva, recorded from 1601 to ca. 1700. Several rock crystal watches are known, among them extremely rare gold examples, among others in the Sandberg collection. Provenance: Dr. Crott 2012.
