Measurements: Height: 4.125" Width/Length: 5.125" Diameter/Depth: 5.125" Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Kangxi famille noir water pot. Potted in water pot, bell shaped body, deep curvature, of a deep vessel, round straight upward to form the small opening rim, short neck, with round flat foot base rim. The exterior characterize decorated with delicate carving under famille noir base color and green fine color depicted of abundant fresh leaves among shiny black base color. In Chinese it is called Hei Ci, meaning the black family, It is a general term for porcelain with a black glaze. The black color achieved by applying a copper-green lead based enamel over an unfired coating of the dry black cobalt which are also used for black outlines. During the firing the two enamels fused resulting in a deep black effect with a hint of green especially visibly where the two layers doesn't fully cover each other. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy. Mark on under base, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, Kangxi Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
