Upon his death in 1833, his sister Mary, and her husband William Westley took over the business and renamed 'Carpenter and Westley' in 1835. The company's mainstream success was in sales and during the mid 19th century the company bought in much of their stock from the renowned manufacturer Negretti & Zambra. The firm continued trading until the business closed in 1914.
