By family repute it was commissioned by his Great-Great grandfather, Mark MacTaggart-Stewart who had a great affinity to the Southwick Estate in Ayrshire and prided himself on his herd of cattle in the parkland. The Estate was sold in the General Strike of 1926 finding running two scottish estates.The painting is the largest of three paintings all in the same style and frame of the Southwick Estate. One is retained in Scotland, the other has been kept by the vendor and this is the largest of the three and depicts Southwick House in the background.Catalogue Note:材质_1: Oil on canvas
