Late 3rd-early 2nd millennium B.C. A bronze bowl stand with openwork cylindrical bodyprising a pair of round-section hoops, two panels consisting of an X-frame flanked by two vertical struts, a pair of ibexes modelled in the round walking right, anatomical detailing to the animals. Cf. Mahboubian Gallery, Elam: Art and Civilization of Ancient Iran 3000-2000 BC, UK, 2004, p.18, item 3, for aparable vessel stand with dogs pursuing deer. 1.4 kg, 21 cm (8 1/4 in.) From a private family collection formed in London from the mid 1980s to early 1990s. This lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is apanied by AIAD certificate no.10889-179771.Condition Report: Fair condition, repaired.
