A bronze basin leg modelled as the forequarters of a standing ibex or goat, hooves resting on a tiered rectangular foot, stylised detailing in the form of notched horns, large ears, mouth, eyes and ribbed collar, with some indication of leg musculature, rounded reverse with square-section column above. Cf. The Metropolitan Museum, accession number , for a similar animal figure dated 8th-7th century B.C. 1.4 kg, 19.5 cm high (7 5/8 in."). Acquired between 1980-1990. Property of a London gentleman.
