18th century A.D. A gold posy ring with D-section hoop, interior inscribed 'For my sake weare this' in script, followed by the letter B in a rectangular cartouche. Cf. The British Museum, museum number AF.1538, for a ring with very similar goldsmith's mark and style of lettering dated c.1739 A.D, who remains unidentified in the standard reference works. 1.88 grams, 19.48 mm overall, 18.00 mm internal diameter (approximate size British P, USA 7 1/2, Europe 16.23, Japan 15) (3/4 in.").
