灵璧皖螺石出形有山形石、象形石、不规则块状石。色彩以黄、红、灰为主，兼有黑、白、绿等多色。皖螺石的底色多为带棕的浅灰白色，抛光后呈棕红色，颜色均匀稳定。深棕色的层纹与浅棕色的基底色差明显，花纹图案极似蚌螺，呈圈纹层叠状，形如铜钱，故又名“金钱石”。其中又分有彩皖螺、平面皖螺、凹凸皖螺等。此件皖螺石形状精致，纹路清晰，实乃家藏案桌之精品。
