Traditionally this figural group was presented as one of a pair alongside La Figlia Del Mare. For a pair by Gajarini, dating from 1878, see Christie's, New York, 19th century European Art, 28th April 2014, Lot 37 ($60,000).Presents well but with restorations including;one bird head, both beaks, two wing edges and one entire tail and one wing broken and restored. The scroll front of the chariot, the front foot of the cherub, most of the fingers and the head have been detached at the neck and restored . Other smaller restored chips here and there, some small chips and general scuffs remain throughout the piece. Some restored patches to edges of marble base. Surface marks and dirt engrained.
