London, Fine English Furniture, 24th April 1997, Lot 275 (£32,200).There are some marks, scratches, knocks, chips, splits and abrasions consistent with age and use.The top has cracks within the grain of the burr timber and a crack corresponding to a sectional underlying join. The sides have vertical splits, the left side with a fillet inset and with some filler.There are some replacements including sections of veneer. The kneehole drawer possibly lacking the tips to the shaped ends. Some later runners to the underside of the drawers.The backboards dark stained and with tape to some cracks.There is evidence of worm including to the underside.Please see the additional photographs as a visual reference of condition.
