蒜头瓶因瓶口形似蒜头而得名，始见于战国晚期，流行于秦汉，多用作酒器，瓷制者则出现于明晚期，尤以嘉靖、万历两朝为盛，清代继续烧造，器形更趋成熟秀美，作为宫廷陈设及花器使用。拍品颈部凸起一道弦纹，器形隽秀雅致，线条柔美起伏。通体满施宝石红釉，釉质丰腴凝腻，釉面莹亮润泽，色彩浓艳夺目，釉下开片匀停，口部、腹部及颈部起弦处泛白，流动感强，极富变化韵律，当为雍乾时期色釉佳器。
