A white jade oval water pot, late Qing Dynasty - Republic Period (catalogued in Lyon & Turnbull)carved as an oval vessel supported on a short straight foot, both sides of the tapering body finely engraved with a poem 'Yi Jian Mei' by Li Qingzhao (ca. 1084-1155), flanked by a pair of handles with a climbing joyous boy holding a lingzhi sprig to one side, the opposite with a peach borne on foliage, further incised with a key-fret band on the mouthrim, the stone of translucent whitish green colour with russet patchesProvenance: private English collection, catalogued in Lyon & Turnbull12cm wide
