He is a well known landscape painter at the Peking Painting Academy (Beijing Huayuan). He graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts (Zhongyang Meishu Xueyuan) in Peking and is active from the 1960s and 1970s until now. His paintings of majestic pines are especially well executed.
