Signature by the artist: “Painted after the idea (xieyi) by Qi Liangji.” Two seals of the artist: „Qi Liangyi”, “Yi jia duo shi”. Two collectors’ seals: “Bote” (Poetter), “Guo Ruping yin”. Collector's seal Helmut Poetter, Frankfurt - Collection Dr. Guo Ruping (1913-1992) - Qi Liangyi was the fifth son of Qi Baishi (1864-1957). He adopted his father’s style of free sketching with ink wash and expressive naturalism and specialized in painting grapes, insects and shrimps. This painting is also imitating a work by his famous father. Very minor traces of age
