A pair of Wanli blue and white kraak porcelain dishes, Wanli period, ca. 1620, China, A pair of thinly potted so called Kraak porcelain dishes with a similar pattern of a Taoist monk. The border with cartouches filled with florals and valuables. Not marked. D 21 cm, Both with a pierced standing rim for hanging. A few rim chips/fritting but no hairlines and no restoration. Some of the typical manufacturing/firing flaws that you would expect. From a Dutch collection. Bought from Sotheby s Amsterdam (Mak van Waay), on November 11th. 1982.
