A thangka depicting Dorje Legpa, Tibet, late 19th century/beginning 20th century, Dorje Legpa with a wrathful appearance and a monk’s style riding hat while riding a goat. He is the worldly protector of the Nyingma Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism and guardian of the Revealed Treasure Tradition (Terma). Another name for Dorje Legpa is Vajrasādhu which is a name of Mañjuśrī (the embodiment of non-dual knowledge). Thangkas like this provide the practitioner a sādhana (‘meditative practice’). Depictions of Dorje Legpa are often similar to depictions of Garwa Nagpo, Damchen ( the Blacksmith ) the main attendant deity to Dorje Legpa and a protector deity in his own right. 46 x 31,5 cm (71x51,5 cm, including frame),
